Volvo
Penta has been carrying out development work on its new revolutionary
boat drive system, Volvo IPS (Inboard Performance System) in close
cooperation with many of the world’s largest boatbuilders. The boat
builders have been able to provide input aimed at optimizing the new
drive system’s characteristics.
Now, the boatbuilders can offer their customers boats with a propulsion
system that has superior performance characteristics compared with
traditional shaft installations
Moreover, the IPS system takes up considerably less space than a
conventional straight shaft installation and is simple to install, which
opens the way for new design solutions and more efficient boat
production.
